FAQ
Do you favor halting molecular manufacturing research?
No. Far from being a modern-day Luddite, I fully support the development of advanced technologies such as molecular nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, and genetic engineering. The benefits of these technologies in the areas of medicine, economics, and the spread of democratic principles throughout the world far outweigh the potential abuses.
Do you think technology is evil?
No. Any emerging technology can be used for either good or evil. It’s not technology that should draw criticism, but mankind in general. Throughout history, we’ve shown a tendency to use technological progress not to better the human condition, but to wage war and oppress our fellow man. Although the past one hundred years has witnessed unprecedented gains in lifespan, democratization, and the general human condition, it has also seen unprecedented slaughter from two world wars, hundreds of regional conflicts, countless dictators, and mass genocide. Our technology has advanced significantly in the past two thousand years, but it seems that the moral condition of mankind has advanced little during the same timeframe.
This is some far out stuff. Are you a nut?
No. My views on technological progress are not very different from those of most mainstream technology futurists, and my views on bible prophecy closely adhere to the views of most of Christianity from the earliest days of the apostles to the present day. I probably do host an unorthodox website in that I combine the two areas of study. But I am not alone in my belief that bible prophecies concerning the last days are being fulfilled in our generation. Joel Rosenberg, a well-respected writer and communications strategist who has advised some of the world’s most influential leaders, also addresses this concern in his recent bestseller Epicenter: Why Current Rumblings in the Middle East will Change Your Future.
Do you really believe in the Second Coming?
Yes. I believe the Bible is a credible source of information second to none. This does not mean that knowledge can not be gained from other sources as well. However, when it comes to future events such as the Second Coming, the Bible’s track record is unprecedented. As catalogued on this site, more than 25% of the Bible concerned future events when written. Of those numerous prophecies, all have been fulfilled except for the majority of those concerning the “end times” and the “last days.” Several “last days” prophecies have been fulfilled in our time, including the exact year in which Israel would be re-emerge as an independent nation.
Since 100% of its previous highly-detailed prophecies have proved accurate, it is a reasonable assumption to believe that as yet unfulfilled prophecies will also prove true, and that includes the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
Why are comments disabled?
The primary aim of this site is to provide information on bible prophecy, molecular manufacturing, and the Singularity. I make every attempt to make my posts as informative and valuable as possible for readers. I’ve disabled the comments because I just don’t feel they serve a purpose. For a more thorough explanation, please read Steve Pavlina’s article ‘Blog Comments.’ I agree 100% with Steve. Readers might wade through ten entries just to find one comment worth reading, and in the end, I just don’t think it’s an efficient use of my time to moderate comments that don’t serve the audience of this site. As an alternative, thoughtful comments can be directed to the email address listed above.
